Some of our clients like to outsource their day-to-day bookkeeping to us; this enables them to concentrate on what they do best, whist we lighten the load. We offer a monthly or quarterly bookkeeping service. Some clients prefer us to work on-site at their own premises, however we typically work remotely from our offices, logging onto our clients’ cloud bookkeeping portal, using QuickBooks, Xero, FreeAgent or Sage. For those not already set-up on a cloud package, we can offer a license for QuickBooks. In addition, we also offer QuickBooks training to clients, which has become increasingly popular since the introduction of Making Tax Digital (MTD).
We offer a full weekly or monthly payroll service. Many of our clients who have staff (ranging from one person to a whole workforce) prefer to outsource their payroll function to us. Our experienced team produce PDF payslips (or even sometimes physical versions where requested!) for all employees, and will advise you of any PAYE and National insurance contributions due to HMRC. As part of the service, we also file the company’s year-end RTI (Real Time Information) return with HMRC and produce P60s for all employees (or a P45 if they leave during the year).
We also run the auto-enrolment (workplace pensions) calculations and incorporate the pension deductions into the payroll.
For business owners who are also directors of their own limited companies, we will advise on their payroll issues and make recommendations of what salary to draw. If they have no other staff, we still provide a payroll service in order to generate a director’s payslip.
In addition to the above, we can offer a range of other payroll services, from CIS monthly returns to general advice and support on payroll administration.
We are able to provide our clients with a management accounts service, where we produce useful management aids, such as monthly or quarterly reports, including – but not limited to – cash flow and profit-and-loss forecasting, etc. This is an extremely useful service for our clients as it enables them to make clear business decisions and plan for the future.
In order to carry out this service, we would normally use your records to produce the report, or even extract data from the books we have prepared as part of our bookkeeping services.
At Leon & Company, we also offer a range of company secretarial services, ranging from managing your limited company’s statutory records, issuing shares, and appointing directors. We also offer our address as your Company’s registered office.
We also prepare and file your company’s Confirmation Statement – this is an annual return to Companies House reporting any updates to the current shareholdings, business activity, and appointments.
Many taxpayers and business owners will have their affairs scrutinised at some point by HMRC. This can range from a small, aspect-enquiry (looking at one aspect of your tax affairs) to a full-blown tax investigation.
At Leon & Company, we are equipped to manage such HMRC enquiries. To give our clients peace of mind, we offer a tax fee-protection scheme which covers our professional fees should such a qualifying investigation crystallise.
